Paradise at home? it’s possible… Close your eyes and connect with your inner self, feel the warm breeze brush against your skin, the sun’s rays caress you, as you connect with the natural world. You’ve probably imagined your own paradise, now it’s time to open your eyes and enjoy it.

Hibiscus are shrubby plants that flower from spring to autumn in warm climates, creating spectacular beds in over 20 different shades.

You can admire them by planting them directly in the ground in your garden, provided your climate allows you to preserve them when winter arrives, as they are very sensitive to frost and can even die.

Another very favourable option is to keep them in large pots, which provide them with the nutrients they need to thrive. This way, you can move them indoors or under cover to protect them from frost when the cold arrives.

Balconies, terraces, patios… They’ll adapt to any location if they get a few hours of direct sunlight and plenty of natural light.

Varieties of lou lou

There are over 20 different varieties in production, all from Graff, distinguished by long-lasting (LongifloraTM) or continuous flowering (MultifloraTM). We have a very wide range of colours, in double and single flowers, for garden decoration and to suit the tastes of the most demanding customers.

Each specimen requires certain quality criteria to qualify for the –lou lou®- quality mark. The plants must be round, compact and hand-worked to ensure abundant flowering. In the larger specimens – I’m talking about 40cm pots – we’ve counted up to 200 flowers.

Let yourself be seduced by the reds, pinks, oranges, yellows and whites of the hibiscus – lou lou® – . They’re perfect for creating a heavenly atmosphere at home, but remember one important thing: this will only be possible if you’re someone who lives with a heart that’s open to nature.

Care

lou lou® wants to help you preserve the splendor of your hibiscus as much as possible.

1) Hibiscus are plants that need direct sunlight, although in very hot and dry locations, part shade is recommended. It is therefore important to take into account the climate in which you live.

2) Water the plant regularly, avoiding waterlogging so that the roots don’t rot.

3) If you keep them at a temperature above 12°C, they will flower constantly.

4) If there is a risk of frost, protect them under a thermal net if they are planted in a garden. If they are in pots, take them inside or put them under cover. They risk dying if the frost comes and we don’t take care of them.

5) Use fertilizer once a year, without applying it during the hottest summer months.

6) If your specimen is in a pot, change the peat every two years. This is very important for preserving the nutrients and properties of the substrate, providing a better guarantee for the plant’s development.

7) Prune once a year, preferably in late winter or early spring. This will give the plant greater vigor, volume and flowering potential.

With all this advice, get ready to enjoy the magical world of -lou lou®- and welcome to your own paradise.
