When May arrives, I sit down with my team to plan next season’s new production, to analyse the new products we’ve found and the plant material we’ve bought, and to plan our work schedule. It’s one of the most important times of the year, because without it, we wouldn’t be able to offer you plants next year.
In the world of horticulture, every season is an opportunity to create pure, magical nature. Together with our growers, I’m proud not only to grow beautiful plants, but also to cultivate strong and fruitful relationships with our customers, who are the real link between our production and the outside world.
Every year we immerse ourselves in the ‘art’ of crop planning, but we humbly acknowledge that nature sometimes surprises us with weather changes and the market sometimes presents us with unexpected challenges. That’s why I’m calling today for collaboration and communication.
As retail professionals, I’d like to know what you encounter in your day-to-day interactions with plant lovers.
What have your customers been looking for and finding difficult?
Are there emerging trends that we may not be taking into account?
Are there specific times of year when you need particularly large quantities of certain varieties?
Do you run special promotions on certain plants?
As growers committed to quality and sustainability, we’re here not just to supply, but to work together to create solutions that benefit everyone. I’d love to hear any information you can share about new end-customer requirements, difficulties in finding certain references or formats, and even ideas about promotions or sales events that could contribute to a more rewarding and meaningful experience for your customers.
Our goal is simple but ambitious: we want to grow the exact quantity of plants you need, always with care and respect, to meet market demand in a precise and timely manner. We believe in following nature’s rhythm rather than forcing growth with artificial methods, and this is a very important point for us! To give each plant the necessary and fair work in the best natural conditions, without using materials that are harmful to the plant, with the aim of obtaining unique specimens at the right price.
Almost all our growers follow this philosophy, the -lou lou®- philosophy, which is why our products stand out in so many outlets.
I would like to invite all of you to start a conversation with us. We want to hear from you. Together, we can cultivate a more balanced future with nature for all plant lovers. I look forward to hearing your proposals and ideas, and to working together in a new way, as I did when I started out in the industry over 30 years ago. Getting back to basics with the experience we have!
