When we decorate our home with plants, we don´t always choose the right variety and after several months, we realise how inappropriate our choice has been, almost always too late for the specimen to survive.

Today I bring you 8 very resistant plants whose care is very easy.

Most of them:
– They require little watering, only if the peat is dry.
– They like indirect light, that means, even if winter comes, keep it away from the sun´s rays.

Still think it is not possible? Leave behind the… – “I have no hand for plants”, because your life is going to change today.

I´ll sum up my selection for you and I think you´ll like it. Let´s get started:

1. Ceropegia woodii:

This beautiful small-leaved hanging plant with colours ranging from greyish to violet, is a marvel wherever you place it.

Look for a northern orientation and you will see how leafy it becomes.

As an anecdote, it is a good gift when you want to show your love for someone, as its heart- shaped leaf says it all.

2. Monstera deliciosa :

This variety is a climber and stands out for its beautiful torn leaves with large holes in an intense and bright green colour.

It is very hardy and long-lived, but demands an add-on. It needs a location with space enough for its leaves to grow easily. If you plant it and help it to stand upright, you will keep it for many years with a harmonious appearance. If not, it will drop its leaves and will need a lot of space wherever you keep it.

3. Maranta Leuconera:

It is a very curious semi-creeping plant because it tends to collect its leaves at night.

I love the colour of its nerves!

And with little care it adapts to any room. It appreciates a little humidity during the summer months. That way you will keep its leaves healthy. Nothing tricky, right?

4. Potho :

Who hasn´t bought a potho with a hanger?

If you are a beginner in the world of plants, take it home and you are sure to succeed.

It is very resistant, as I say, a real survivor. If it lacks a little water, or fertilizer, or if you prune it “your way”, it will resist temporarily to your adverse conditions.

On the market, you can also find this plant with a tutor.

5. Spathiphyllum:

Another variety that can be kept at home without any problems whatsoever.

The only thing is it requires more continuous watering.

It is also considered by NASA to be an air purifying plant, so you can put it in the most inhabited places to help improve the atmosphere.

I find it very stylish when it´s in bloom. Its white flowers among those lush green leaves, offer a very fresh and elegant decoration wherever you put it.

6. Beaucarnea recurvata:

Peculiar because of its original rough trunk in the shape of an elephant´s foot, it is widely used for small spaces, as it has a straight trunk and a tuft at the top.

It can get some sun, but I advise you to keep it in the shade, as the tips of its leaves can get burnt.

7. Sansiviera:

Very fashionable because of its long life, it stands out because it does not need large spaces where you place it and it is also considered by NASA as a plant that eliminates toxins from the air.

There are different varieties on the market with different shades of leaves, where yellows, blues and greys are mixed with the main green tone of the plant.

8. Senecio rowleyanus:

This plant is notable for its ball-shaped leaves and drooping bearing.

It is a succulent, but if you place it in full sun, it will tend to drop the balls and turn yellow or reddish depending on its intensity.

I have several and they are in small baskets, on the shelves in my daughter´s room and in the bathroom.

Whichever specimen you choose, you will be surprised how hardy all these varieties can be, but there are many others.

Nowit is the time to redecorate our homes. Summer is coming to an end and it´s getting cooler, so take some time for your home decoration and put PLANTS in your life.
